Digital Art by Chelle Reyes

SHE is drawn with chaos, yet stands with grace,
A story unfolding in scribbled embrace.
Each line unplanned, yet perfectly true,
A map of the battles SHE’s fought her way through.

Not shaped by perfection, nor bound by the neat,
SHE rises through tangles, unshaken, complete.
Messy yet mighty, fierce yet divine,
Strength in each stroke, resilience in every line.

Her beauty is not in the spaces left clean,
But in the layers of all SHE has seen.
SHE is a masterpiece, bold and alive,
Not just in the strokes—but the will to survive.

March is International Women's Month, a time to celebrate the strength, creativity, and resilience of women everywhere. One of the most meaningful ways to honor this occasion is by supporting women artists who are using their talents to bring healing, inspiration, and beauty into the world.

A dear friend of mine, Donna Donor, is one such artist. She’s a mom, blogger, teacher, and creative soul who designed an adult coloring book with women especially in mind. Coloring a page from her book was more than just a fun activity—it became a form of art therapy, a moment of mindfulness and self-expression.

For this piece, I experimented with pens, crayons, colored pencils, and marker pens, layering different textures to bring depth and vibrancy to the design. I also added my own touch by incorporating zentangle patterns and doodles, turning the process into a meditative experience.

Art therapy, especially for women, offers a powerful way to unwind, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves. Through creativity, we can release stress, embrace self-care, and find healing in the simple act of making art.

This Women’s Month, let’s uplift and support the women artists in our lives. Their art is a gift to the world, and by celebrating them, we celebrate the power of creativity itself.

If you’d love to explore Donna Donor’s Art Therapy For Women Adult Coloring Book, reach out to her through her Facebook page . Let’s support women artists and embrace the joy of mindful creativity together!

How are you honoring International Women's Month? Have you tried using art as therapy? Share your thoughts.

February 25 used to besomething. It was a day when we remembered the bravery of the Filipino people who stood together, unarmed but determined, to reclaim freedom. It wasn’t just a holiday; it was a reminder of what people can achieve when they refuse to be silenced. But today? It feels like just another regular day. Business as usual. Classes as usual.

Why Is the EDSA People Power Revolution Important?

Most schools have classes today. What used to be a day of commemoration has been reduced to a normal weekday because powerful people may have grudges against those who are remembered for EDSA. It’s strange, isn’t it? How something as monumental as people reclaiming democracy can be brushed aside, as if it never mattered.

I should be in class, but I’m not. I woke up with a migraine that pinned me to my bed, fighting my own little battle. If I didn’t feel like my head was splitting in two, I would have gone to class today. Not just for attendance, but because I want to be present. I want to keep the truth alive in whatever small ways I can.

The Legacy of People Power: Beyond Political Colors

I’m writing this because I don’t want to forget—and I don’t want anyone else to, either. The EDSA People Power Revolution wasn’t about political colors. It wasn’t about who was in charge or who wanted to be. It was about people’s lives. It was about courage. It was about standing up when things weren’t right. And that’s something we all need to remember, no matter who sits in power.

Why We Must Continue to Commemorate EDSA

I get it—life moves on. People get tired of hearing about the past. But some things should never be forgotten. The people who marched in 1986 did it not just for themselves but for all of us who came after. The least we can do is remember them.

So, here I am, stuck in bed, but still trying. Because remembering matters. Truth matters. And no one in power can erase that—not if we refuse to let them.

Art Month is always a special time for me—not just as an artist but as a supporter of fellow creatives. This year, I had the joy of enrolling my son in a one-day clay and acrylic on canvas workshop led by another mother artist, Maestra Macari of MACARIcreates. While I could have guided him at home, because I am an artist myself, there’s something profoundly enriching about allowing another artist—another mother—to share her craft and passion with my child.

The Joy of Supporting Mother Artists

Supporting mother artists is deeply important to me. As mothers, we juggle many roles, and for those of us who create, art is more than just a passion—it’s a form of self-expression, healing, and identity. Uplifting another mother artist means fostering a community where we can thrive together rather than compete.

  • Building a Stronger Community – Supporting fellow mother artists nurtures collaboration and shared purpose, reminding us that we are not alone.
  • Empowering Mothers as Creators – Encouraging mother artists helps them reclaim their creative identities alongside motherhood.
  • Passing the Gift of Art to the Next Generation – When children see their mothers supporting artists, they learn the values of creativity, connection, and generosity.
  • Mindfulness Through Art – Creating art fosters self-awareness, emotional balance, and presence, benefiting both the artist and the observer.

A Memorable Art Workshop Experience

Walking into the workshop, I immediately felt a sense of warmth and inspiration. Watching children explore paint, mold clay, and immerse themselves in creativity reinforced why art is so essential. It allows children to express themselves freely, beyond rules and expectations. Witnessing my son create in a space nurtured by another artist was truly fulfilling.

A Child’s Perspective on Art and Connection

One of my favorite moments was when my son, in his innocent wisdom, told his teacher that his mom also teaches art. It was a small yet profound acknowledgment—a child’s way of recognizing the interconnectedness of art and learning. It reminded me that we all have something valuable to share and learn from one another.

Art as a Path to Healing and Expression

After the workshop, Maestra Macari and I had a heartfelt conversation about our shared love for art and teaching. We discussed how art helps both children and adults express emotions and navigate their inner worlds. As passionate advocates for mental health through creativity, we exchanged insights on using art to foster healing and self-discovery.

I also introduced her to my mindfulness art life coaching practice, and we bonded over our mutual desire to help others find solace and strength through artistic expression. This conversation reinforced that art is more than a skill—it’s a bridge to emotional well-being and growth.

Fostering Creativity in Children

This experience reminded me that nurturing creativity in children isn’t just about the final product but the environment we provide. It’s about teaching them to value collaboration, appreciate others’ artistry, and experience the joy of creation. As a mother artist, supporting another artist reinforces the idea that we rise together.

A Space for Creativity and Connection

Creating and supporting art is about more than just the process—it’s about the spaces that allow creativity to thrive. Whether in a workshop, a gallery, or a cozy gathering space, the right environment makes all the difference.

That’s why I love discovering places like Crispy Basket, located on the ground floor of RFC, Molino. They serve freshly prepared, budget-friendly dishes like steak, quesadillas, tacos, ramen, and turones, making every meal a satisfying experience. More than just great food, Crispy Basket offers a warm and inviting space perfect for intimate gatherings, special celebrations, or even creative sessions. Whether you choose to dine in, reserve the entire venue for a private event, or enjoy their convenient pickup and delivery via Lalamove, they make quality dining effortless and accessible.

Just as art brings people together, so does a good meal. Supporting local businesses like Crispy Basket aligns with the spirit of community—uplifting fellow entrepreneurs, sharing in creative experiences, and making every moment special.

Final Thoughts

  • Uplift and Encourage – A simple act of support can mean everything to a mother artist balancing creativity and parenting.
  • Incorporate Mindfulness in Art – The journey of creation is as important as the outcome.
  • Celebrate Creativity and Connection – Art Month is a reminder to honor artistic expression and the relationships it fosters.

To all mother artists—whether you create in the quiet hours after your children sleep, teach others, or are just beginning your creative journey—your art matters. And to those who support artists, whether by enrolling in their classes, purchasing their work, or simply sharing their name, your support is invaluable. Because in both art and motherhood, love and encouragement make all the difference.

Art Month is a celebration, and I am grateful for moments like these that remind me why art is such a gift. Here’s to creating, supporting, and uplifting one another!

Art has always been my refuge, my silent sanctuary, and my lifeline. As a single mom navigating the complexities of life, compounded by the relentless battles with migraines, I have found solace in creativity. Through art, I channel my pain—transforming struggles into strokes, anxieties into colors, and hardships into something beautiful. It is through this process that I have learned to refocus, realign, and embrace healing.

The Power of Mindfulness in Art

Incorporating mindfulness into my artistic practice has been transformative. Every brushstroke, every intricate zentangle, and every swirl of color allows me to be fully present in the moment. Art has become my meditation, a space where I let go of external chaos and reconnect with my inner self.

One of my favorite mindfulness-infused techniques is coffee painting. The earthy aroma of coffee grounds mixed with water becomes more than just paint—it is a sensory experience that deepens my spiritual alignment. The scent, the texture, and the warm tones create a grounding effect, helping me enter a state of flow where I feel completely at peace.

Teaching Mindfulness Through Art: A Creative Journey

Art is not just a personal practice for me; it is something I love sharing with others, both kids and adults. My passion for mindfulness and creativity led me to develop a program called Paintblots, which combined art and mindfulness for children. Through Paintblots, we explored creative activities such as mandala making, stained glass painting, and nature-inspired art. Each session was carefully crafted to teach children the importance of self-expression, patience, and relaxation.

Breathing exercises were an essential part of our sessions, helping the children center themselves before creating. We incorporated nature elements, encouraging children to paint with leaves, explore the colors of the sky, or create their own interpretations of the world around them. These activities allowed them to cultivate focus, emotional awareness, and a sense of inner peace—skills that would serve them far beyond the art session.

Art as a Lifelong Journey: Healing and Alignment

Art, for me, is more than just an escape; it is a tool for self-discovery, resilience, and empowerment. It is a bridge between my pain and healing, between my struggles and transformation. As I continue my journey as a mindful art life coach, I hope to inspire others to embrace creativity not just as a hobby but as a way of life—a path toward mindfulness, alignment, and deeper connection with oneself.

Through art, we can heal. Through art, we can find clarity. And through art, we can truly live.

Cats have always been more than just pets—they are spiritual companions, mystical protectors, and natural healers. Their presence brings balance, their purring emits healing frequencies, and their mysterious energy has been revered for centuries. If you’ve ever felt a deep, almost otherworldly connection with cats, you’re not alone. Let’s explore the spiritual, magical, and healing aspects of these fascinating creatures.

Cats as Spiritual Guides

Across cultures and history, cats have been linked to spirituality and divine protection. The ancient Egyptians worshiped Bastet, a feline goddess symbolizing intuition, home protection, and sacred feminine energy (Britannica). Even today, many believe cats possess psychic abilities, sensing energies beyond human perception.

Cats are also thought to absorb negative energy. Have you ever noticed a cat suddenly staring at nothing or avoiding certain spaces? Some spiritual traditions believe they can detect unseen energies, guiding us toward balance and awareness.

The Mystical Energy of Cats

Cats have been associated with mysticism and magic for centuries. In folklore, they were believed to be witches’ familiars, aiding in spiritual work and offering protection. Their independent nature reflects self-sufficiency, patience, and living in alignment with the universe—qualities many spiritual seekers strive for.

Beyond myths, cats teach mindfulness. They move with grace, presence, and intention, reminding us to slow down, trust our instincts, and embrace solitude when needed.

Healing Frequencies in a Cat’s Purr

One of the most scientifically backed benefits of cats is their ability to heal through purring. Studies show that a cat’s purr vibrates at frequencies between 25 and 150 Hz, a range linked to:

  • Bone Healing & Tissue Regeneration – Frequencies within this range have been shown to strengthen bones and promote tissue healing (RY Ortho).
  • Pain Relief & Stress Reduction – The rhythmic sound of purring has a calming effect, lowering stress hormones and promoting relaxation (Inspire the Mind).
  • Improved Heart Health – Studies suggest that cat owners have a lower risk of heart disease and strokes, possibly due to the stress-relieving benefits of having a feline companion (Such Cats).

So the next time your cat curls up and purrs beside you, remember—you’re receiving a mini healing session!

Cats and Vibrational Alignment

Cats naturally operate at higher vibrational frequencies. They do not resist life’s flow—they trust, rest, and align with the present moment. Their presence can raise our own vibration, helping us feel grounded, peaceful, and in sync with universal energy.

Have you ever meditated with a cat nearby? Many people find that their intuitive insights deepen when a cat is present. Whether they are lying next to you, watching from afar, or simply existing in their own world, their energy resonates with mindfulness, stillness, and quiet wisdom.

Final Thoughts: Why Cats Are More Than Just Pets

Caring for cats is not just about companionship—it’s a spiritual exchange. They teach us to:

  • Honor our independence while still loving deeply
  • Listen to our intuition and trust the unseen
  • Embrace stillness and solitude as a path to self-discovery
  • Find healing in simplicity, whether through a quiet moment or a soft purr

Whether you’ve always felt drawn to cats or you’re just starting to notice their spiritual and healing energy, know that they are far more than meets the eye.

Do you feel a deep connection with cats? Have they helped you spiritually or emotionally? Share your experiences in the comments below!

The Certification Experience

Pursuing my life coaching certification was both an enlightening and humbling experience. I immersed myself in techniques that deepen self-awareness, facilitate healing, and empower individuals to step into their highest selves. The journey required introspection, patience, and trust in my ability to hold space for others. Each lesson, practice session, and moment of self-reflection brought me closer to the realization that this is exactly where I am meant to be.

Merging Life Coaching with Mindfulness and Art

As a mindful life coach, my approach is deeply rooted in creativity, presence, and inner peace. I believe that healing and self-discovery can happen in many forms, including art, meditation, and intuitive practices. Through zentangles, doodles, and painting, I help others tap into their subconscious, process emotions, and reconnect with their inner wisdom.

My coaching will be a sacred space for those seeking clarity, alignment, and a deeper connection with themselves. Whether you are looking to overcome creative blocks, find peace amid chaos, or awaken to your soul’s purpose, I am here to guide and support you on that journey.

What’s Next? Free Sessions & Community Offerings

To celebrate this milestone, I am offering free coaching sessions on Facebook this month! This is my way of giving back and sharing the transformative power of mindful coaching with those who need it. If you’ve been feeling stuck, seeking clarity, or simply want to explore a new way to heal and grow, I invite you to join me.

This is just the beginning of a beautiful chapter, and I am excited to walk this path with all of you. Thank you for being part of my journey. Let’s grow, heal, and create together.

With love,
Chelle

The Power of Words in Manifestation

Words are powerful tools that shape our reality. Every time we speak about our pain, we give it energy. When we dwell on suffering, we manifest more of it. But when we choose to speak blessings, gratitude, and abundance, we create a life filled with positivity and growth.

My Journey of Resilience and Transformation

I have faced struggles beyond measure—challenges that tested my strength, moments that could have broken me. Yet, I have always chosen joy. By shifting my mindset and using positive affirmations, I have transformed my narrative. Instead of reinforcing pain, I focus on uplifting words that empower and heal.

The Science Behind Words and Energy

Studies show that words carry vibrational energy that influences our thoughts and emotions. Positive self-talk can rewire the brain, improve mental well-being, and attract abundance. By consciously choosing words of encouragement, we align with higher frequencies of success and happiness.

Practicing Gratitude Over Suffering

Rather than telling the world about my hardships, I express gratitude for how much I have grown. I speak of love, peace, and prosperity, knowing that my words shape my reality. Every challenge has been a lesson, guiding me to a better version of myself.

How to Shift Your Narrative for Success

  1. Use Positive Affirmations – Start your day with empowering statements like, "I am worthy of happiness and abundance."

  2. Avoid Negative Self-Talk – Reframe negative thoughts into constructive ones.

  3. Express Gratitude Daily – Write down three things you're grateful for each day.

  4. Surround Yourself with Positivity – Engage with uplifting content and supportive people.

  5. Visualize Your Ideal Life – Speak as if your dreams have already come true.

Speak What You Want to Manifest

If you want happiness, speak of happiness. If you want abundance, declare it. Shift your narrative, and you will shift your life.

Every word holds energy—choose to use them wisely. Choose to create a reality filled with light, love, and infinite blessings.

The Crossroads of Career and Personal Life

For months, I’ve found myself at a crossroads, torn between staying in my current workplace and exploring new opportunities. I love the children I teach, and my workmates are wonderful, but the pay is low, and certain aspects of the environment don’t always align with my beliefs. While I’ve managed to voice my truth when necessary, I still find myself questioning whether this is where I’m meant to be.

Weighing the Pros and Cons

The biggest factor holding me back is my son. He studies where I work, and leaving would mean finding a new school for him, which adds another layer of uncertainty. At the same time, I have side hustles that offer alternative paths, giving me options if I decide to step away.

The Power of Speaking My Truth

Today, I did something powerful—I talked. I spoke with people whose opinions matter to me, sharing my feelings, my doubts, and my desires. And in doing so, I found peace. Not necessarily because I now have all the answers, but because I allowed myself to be honest, to express what has been weighing on me.

Trusting the Process

Asking for what we need and want is not always easy. We often fear judgment, rejection, or disrupting the status quo. But when we align ourselves with our truth and communicate openly, we create space for clarity and resolution. Even when the final decision hasn’t been made, there is immense peace in knowing that we are heard and supported.

Moving Forward with Confidence

I still need time to think things through. Whether I stay or go, I trust that the universe has my back. And no matter what, I will continue to honor my truth, knowing that alignment is not just about where we are but about how we choose to show up in our own lives.

The Journey of Understanding Love

For the longest time, I wondered why certain relationships never worked out. I questioned, overanalyzed, and sometimes tried to force love into places it simply did not belong. I held onto people who were never meant to stay, hoping that if I gave more, loved harder, compromised further, I could make it work. But love is not something we force. Love, real love, is something that flows. It aligns. It finds its way to us when we are ready.

A Love That Feels Like Home

I have found a love so true. A love that feels like home. A love that speaks in quiet actions rather than loud declarations. He is not big on words, but he is thoughtful. Loving. Gentle. In his presence, I do not need to seek validation. I do not need to explain my worth. He sees me, truly sees me, and that is enough.

Understanding Why the Past Didn’t Work

And for the first time, I understand why the past did not work out. I understand why the father of my child was never meant to be my forever. It is because someone, somewhere, was meant for me in a way that no one else could be. Someone whose soul resonates with mine, who understands love not as an obligation but as a natural rhythm, a dance of energies coming together effortlessly.

Trusting in Divine Alignment

If you are lost, if you are searching, if you feel like love has been an elusive dream—breathe. Trust. Surrender. Love is not something we chase; it is something we align with. And alignment does not come from grasping or clinging. It comes from flowing, from allowing, from becoming so deeply in tune with yourself that the universe has no choice but to match your energy with the love you deserve.

Letting Go of the Wrong Love

If you are in love with the wrong one, if you are holding onto someone who makes you feel small, unseen, unheard—ask yourself, is this love or is this fear? Is this flow or is this force? The love meant for you will never require you to shrink. The love meant for you will not feel like resistance; it will feel like home.

Embracing the Timing of the Universe

We must trust that destiny has its way of unfolding. We must believe that our souls know the path, even when our minds are clouded with doubt. Let go of what is not yours, and watch as the universe delivers what has always been waiting for you. Love is not about time, age, or circumstance—it is about connection, alignment, and the undeniable pull of the right souls meeting at the right moment.

Knowing When You’ve Found the One

And when it happens, you will understand. You will see why it never worked before. You will feel the peace of being exactly where you are meant to be. And most importantly, you will know: love was never missing; it was only waiting for you to be ready.

The moon is beautiful. It’s the Full Moon in Leo—a time to step into your power, release the old, and trust your path.

Every challenge is a doorway to healing, every shift a chance to grow. Lately, I’ve been feeling this deeply—choosing myself, creating, healing, and finally doing what my soul has always called me to do. It’s not always easy, but it’s real. It’s alignment.

Tonight, while moon-watching, I poured my energy into an artwork. I’ve been feeling a bit off, but art is healing. It soothes me, distracts me from pain, and brings me back to myself. Just like the moon—gentle yet powerful, always guiding, always healing.

Here's my art -->

If you’re feeling the pull too, trust it. Let go of what’s weighing you down and make space for what’s meant for you. The Universe is always guiding you.

You already have everything you need within you.

🌕 Happy Full Moon! 🌕

Much love & cosmic magic,

Starting my journey as a Mindful Art Life Coach, I am deeply moved by the impact my art and my mission have on others. Receiving heartfelt messages is a reminder of why I do what I do—helping others embrace their stories, find healing, and step into their power.

"Your art has amazed me. One particular favourite was the portrait of the female v-part 😁 sorry baka ma block ni fb pag ni spell ko but I was mesmerized - you know it felt uncomfortable to me at first given my history of abuse and assault but that art of yours made me realise I don't have to be ashamed about anything. In fact, it wasn't my fault that people hurt me. I also came to realise that just embracing that story of mine the way I love the beautiful ones, is freeing... 🙏❤️" -MA

Art is more than just expression; it’s a journey toward self-acceptance, freedom, healing, and transformation. Grateful for these kind words and the opportunity to guide others in finding peace through creativity.

Where Healing is Needed, I Am Drawn

People have always come to me for advice—friends, family, students, even strangers. At first, I wondered why, but now I see it’s part of my energy. Healing finds me, and I embrace it.

I don’t have all the answers, but I offer a safe space to listen and guide. Whether through words or art, I’ve seen how people leave our interactions feeling lighter and more at peace.

"Your wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support have shaped me in ways I never imagined. You've shown me the power of perseverance, the value of learning from setbacks, and the importance of leading with compassion. You don’t just teach me how to succeed; you teach me how to rise, how to adapt, and how to believe in my own potential. I am deeply grateful for all the lessons you've shared and the example you set. Thank you for being the kind of mentor that not only helps me grow but also inspires me to pay it forward to others."- SA

The Energy We Carry

Our energy speaks before we do. Mine seems to say, You are safe here. In a world where many feel unseen, that energy has become a bridge to those in need.

From students struggling with self-doubt to strangers sharing their pain, I’ve learned that healing isn’t about fixing-- it's about holding space for growth.

"Creating a safe space is not an easy role to play. However, it just manifests one way or another and by seeing it in the life of the one advocating it. As my professor, inspiration in the field of education, and a pure soul that I admire in seeing what life should be... This advocacy of Mindful Art of yours will naturally create divine healing, restoration, and create a safe space for people struggling and juggling with life hurdles. I always believed and support in your advocacies from the very beginning. One way to say this, 💯% recommended as an art of navigating life" -JS

Healing Through Art

Lately, I’ve witnessed how art transforms people. Zentangles, painting, and creative expression unlock emotions in a way words can’t. I’ve seen hesitant beginners find peace in each brushstroke, healing as they create. And as I guide them, I heal too.

Embracing the Path

I used to question why I kept ending up in these moments of deep connection, but now I know—this is my path. Where healing is needed, I am drawn. Through art, words, and presence, I help others find their way back to themselves.

"Congratulations on pursuing this amazing journey, Mummy! Your art is truly inspiring, but it’s your heart that shines the brightest. The love and passion you pour into everything you do resonate deeply, reminding us of the incredible kindness you possess. Thank you for following your passion and sharing your gifts with the world. Keep inspiring those around you and continue being a blessing in all our lives. We're so grateful for you." -KC

"Since then and until now, I’ve been a fan of yours. Even during our PLM-SCA Leadership Training, I saw you as one of the most talented, creative, gentle, and kind-hearted people I know. Life coaching, writing, teaching, and art therapy are truly your calling.  You are also one of the people who inspire me to pursue my passion and gift for writing. I know I will learn a lot from you when it comes to life coaching."

If you feel the pull to create, express, or let go of what weighs you down, embrace it. Healing comes in many forms, sometimes in a doodle or a splash of paint. And if you ever need guidance, know that I am here—just as I always have been.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and whether you love it or dread it, it’s a good time to reflect on love and connection. If you’re searching for a partner who truly aligns with your values, it’s not just about swiping right—it’s about tuning in spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Love isn’t just found; it’s created through alignment and deep connection. Here’s how you can find the one who resonates with your soul.

Align with Your True Self

Before you seek someone else, turn inward. What do you value? What are your non-negotiables? What brings you peace and fulfillment? A relationship is not about completing yourself but about complementing your journey. When you know who you are and embrace your authenticity, you naturally attract someone who resonates with your energy.

Set Intentions and Stay Open

Love is energy. If you’re aimlessly dating, you’ll get aimless results. Set the intention that you want a partner who aligns with your values. Write it down, visualize it, and trust the process. While staying clear about your desires, remain open to how love may show up—it may not always be in the way you expect.

Seek Deep Connection, Not Just Attraction

Lust and chemistry can be intoxicating, but true connection is built on shared values, mutual respect, and emotional safety. Ask deep questions, observe actions, and notice how you feel in their presence. Love should feel like home—expansive, not draining.

Trust Divine Timing

Desperation blocks blessings. Let go of control and trust that love will find you at the right time. When you align with yourself and stay open, the universe has a way of bringing the right person into your life effortlessly. The right love flows naturally and does not need to be forced.

Finding a partner isn’t about chasing—it’s about attracting. When you align with your truth, the right person will naturally be drawn to you. Love isn’t just about being with someone; it’s about creating a connection that nurtures your soul. Stay patient, stay open, and most importantly, stay true to yourself.

Love will find you when you are ready to receive it. And when it does, it will feel like home.

Are you ready?

Parenting is a Journey of Growth

Parenting is a wild ride—equal parts challenge and blessing. It stretches us in ways we never imagined, making us face not just our child’s needs but our own emotional growth. Before becoming a parent, I thought it was all about teaching and disciplining. But I’ve learned that parenting is just as much about raising ourselves—becoming the kind of person we want our child to look up to.

The Truth?

I mess up. A lot. My partner does too. We get tired, we get frustrated, and sometimes we react in ways we regret. But the difference is, we see it, we talk about it, and we make it right. Because parenting isn’t about perfection—it’s about growth.

Taking Responsibility as Parents

We expect our kids to manage their emotions, but do we hold ourselves to the same standard? We can’t raise emotionally healthy kids without doing the inner work ourselves. Parenting isn’t just about rules and routines—it’s about breaking cycles, staying present, and leading with love instead of frustration.

- Emotional Maturity as a Parent Means:

  • Responding with patience instead of reacting with anger

Kids test boundaries. They make mistakes. They feel big emotions they don’t know how to handle. It’s easy to snap, but what they need is a parent who can pause, take a deep breath, and respond calmly. When we model self-regulation, they learn it too.

  • Apologizing instead of insisting on being right

We’re not perfect. We lose our temper, make bad calls, or react unfairly. Owning up to our mistakes teaches our kids that respect goes both ways, and that relationships grow stronger through honesty, not power struggles.

  • Choosing empathy over judgment

Our kids are learning, just like we are. When they act out, it’s usually because they’re overwhelmed. Instead of rushing to punish, we can choose to understand and help them work through their feelings. When they feel heard, they’re more likely to connect and cooperate.

- The Power of Repairing Mistakes

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that mistakes don’t define us—how we handle them does. When we mess up, we don’t pretend it didn’t happen. We own it, we apologize, and we do better next time. Saying, “I was frustrated, and I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way. I’m sorry,” shows kids that emotional health isn’t about never messing up—it’s about taking responsibility and making things right.

Intentional Parenting: Showing Up with Purpose

Mindful and intentional parenting means making conscious choices, instead of reacting on autopilot or repeating what we grew up with. It’s about pausing, reflecting, and responding with awareness.

Creating an environment of awareness – Our kids absorb everything—our tone, our words, our energy. Being intentional means making sure we’re shaping a home where they feel safe and valued.

Defining our values – Beyond behavior and academics, what do we want to teach our kids? Kindness? Resilience? Emotional intelligence? Parenting with intention means making sure our actions align with what we want to instill in them.

Prioritizing connection over control – Intentional parenting isn’t about getting everything right. It’s about being present, listening, and responding with love. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s connection.

Growth Over Perfection

There’s no such thing as a perfect parent. The real goal is to be a growing parent—to recognize our triggers, to break old patterns, and to model emotional maturity for our kids.

Parenting is a Journey—Let’s Grow Together

Parenting isn’t about controlling our kids. It’s about guiding them while growing alongside them. When we choose mindfulness and emotional maturity, we teach them by example—that mistakes are learning moments, that emotions are meant to be felt and understood, and that connection is always more important than control.

So if you’re struggling, you’re not alone. We all have tough days. But every single moment is a chance to realign, reconnect, and show up with love. Mindful and intentional parenting isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present, patient, and willing to grow, one day at a time.

For as long as I can remember, art has been my safe space. Whether I was feeling lonely, stressed, or even battling a migraine, I’d grab a pen, sketch, or paint, and suddenly, the world felt a little lighter. Now, at 43, I’m stepping into something even bigger—combining my love for art, mindfulness, and healing into my new role as a Mindful Art Life Coach. This is my journey, and if you’re looking for a creative way to find peace, I’d love for you to come along.

Art Has Been My Lifelong Friend

Ever since I was a kid, art was my go-to. When I felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, or just needed a break from life, I’d create. Drawing, painting, and zentangles helped me tune out the noise and reconnect with myself. Even now, all these years later, art still gives me that same sense of calm and balance.

Two Decades of Teaching and Learning

I’ve been teaching for over 20 years, helping students tap into their potential. With a background in psychology and a love for the humanities, I’ve seen firsthand how creativity helps people express what words sometimes can’t. My experience in education has deepened my understanding of emotions, behaviors, and the healing power of self-expression.

The Magic of Mindfulness and Spirituality

Art isn’t just about creating something pretty—it’s a way to be present, to tap into something bigger than ourselves. I’m all about mindfulness, spirituality, and that feeling of being "in the flow." Whether it’s journaling, meditating, or using tools like tarot and astrology, I’ve spent years learning how to connect with my inner self and help others do the same.

Listening, Leading, and Healing

People naturally come to me for advice and guidance. Maybe it’s my background in psychology, or maybe it’s just who I am, but I’ve always been a listener, a guide, and a healer. Now, I’m channeling that energy into my work as a Mindful Art Life Coach, creating a space where people can explore their emotions, find clarity, and heal through creativity.

Zentangles, Painting, and Creative Therapy

Doodling, zentangles, and painting aren’t just hobbies—they’re meditative practices. These creative outlets help quiet the mind, ease stress, and bring a sense of peace. As a coach, I want to introduce others to these tools, showing them how to use art as therapy, a way to let go and reconnect with themselves.

You can check out some of my work and creative process here:

Helping Others Find Their Own Path

Helping others find their path has always come naturally to me. For a long time, I offered wisdom and encouragement, yet I struggled with rebranding myself due to self-doubt. I often felt small, unsure if I could fully step into this role. But through my own healing journey and self-discovery, I’ve realized that this is not just something I can do—it’s something I’m meant to do.

To deepen my practice, I’m currently completing certifications in life coaching and art therapy. These studies are helping me refine my approach so I can better support those seeking healing through creative expression.

I’m ready to guide others on their own journey of healing. Whether it’s anxiety, self-doubt, or just feeling lost, I want to help people find a creative outlet that truly works for them. Through mindful art practices, I’ll help unlock inner wisdom, encourage self-care, and cultivate a sense of alignment with the universe.

I'm Here For You: Let’s Do This Together!

This is just the beginning, and I’d love for you to be a part of it. If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of a creative escape, let’s connect. Through mindful art, we can explore, heal, and grow together.

Art has always been my comfort, my teacher, and my way to heal. Now, I’m here to share its magic with you. Let’s create, heal, and find our flow—one mindful stroke at a time.

Today’s lesson with my senior high students was one of those moments that really hit home for me. We were diving into counseling—talking about the importance of seeking help and how counselors need skills like empathy, active listening, and compassion. It got me thinking about my own journey into life coaching and art therapy, and how much these fields overlap.

The Power of Counseling

We talked about how asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, but an important part of healing and growth. Counselors help create a safe space where people can process emotions and figure out their next steps. These same skills—listening, being compassionate—are essential in life coaching, and I’ve been learning a lot about that in my course.

Life Coaching and Art Therapy

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." – Pablo Picasso

I see a lot of connections between counseling, life coaching, and art therapy. While counseling focuses on healing, life coaching is about guiding people toward their goals and the life they want. Art therapy, which I’m also exploring, allows people to express their emotions through creativity—something that can really complement coaching. I’m excited about bringing these elements together to help others in a more holistic way.

Mindfulness and Spiritual Growth

One thing I’ve been learning through both teaching and life coaching is the importance of mindfulness. It’s about being present—not just for others, but also for yourself. As a mindful coach, I want to help people connect to their inner wisdom, and art therapy will play a huge role in that. Art helps uncover things words sometimes can’t, and it’s a powerful tool for self-expression and healing.

My Reflection

Today’s lesson wasn’t just about teaching my students—it was a reminder of how everything I’m learning ties into one bigger purpose: helping others live with more clarity, purpose, and alignment. I’m excited to bring life coaching and art therapy together to guide others toward healing and self-discovery.

Oh, Migraines!

I am having a migraine attack as I write this. I’ve had chronic migraines for as long as I can remember—an almost daily battle that has shaped my life in ways I never imagined. I’ve canceled plans, missed opportunities, and tried every possible remedy—doctor visits, medications, dietary changes, ice packs, and more. Some things helped momentarily, but the pain always returned.

Befriending the Pain

Over time, I learned to accept my migraines as a part of me, but I refused to let them define my life. Instead, I started exploring ways to shift my focus away from the pain. That’s when mindfulness, art, and meditation became my refuge. Zentangles, doodles, and painting have given me an outlet—a way to channel my discomfort into something beautiful.

Art can Heal

When I create, I find a sense of flow and calm, befriending the pain rather than fighting against it. The rhythmic strokes of my pen and brush help me be present in the moment, easing the grip of the pain on my mind. Mindfulness meditation has also been a powerful tool, helping me breathe through the pain and find peace even in the midst of an attack.

I still use essential oils like peppermint and lemon as part of my routine, and they provide some relief. But more than anything, I’ve discovered that art and mindfulness help me approach my migraine journey with a sense of grace.

Mindful Art Therapy

This realization has inspired me to dive deeper into the connection between art, mindfulness, and healing. I’m currently taking a course in art therapy and mindfulness life coaching, and I hope to help others—especially fellow migraine sufferers—learn how creative expression can transform pain into something meaningful.

If you’ve ever struggled with chronic pain, I’d love to hear your story. Let’s explore how we can turn our challenges into art, healing, and purpose.

Zentangles and Doodles

There’s something really soothing about putting pen to paper—or stylus to screen—and letting patterns flow. Zentangles and doodle art have become my little escape—a way to quiet my mind, find my center, and just enjoy the moment.

Keep Calm, Make Art

Whenever I’m feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or overstimulated, I start drawing. Sometimes it’s with ink on paper, other times it’s digital, but either way, the simple, repetitive patterns help shift my focus. Before I know it, my breathing slows, my mind settles, and I’m in this peaceful, meditative state. It’s like my own personal reset button. Plus, it makes me genuinely happy! There’s a sense of flow, like I’m tapped into something bigger than myself—almost as if the universe is guiding my hand.

Art is Energy

For me, art isn’t just about making something beautiful; it’s about energy, alignment, and being present. It reminds me that, just like in life, even the most random lines and shapes eventually come together into something meaningful.

Create and Connect

Since February is Art Month, I’m making it a point to create and share more of my zentangles and doodles—not just as an artistic outlet, but as a way to celebrate calm, happiness, and that deep sense of connection to the universe. Whether you prefer traditional or digital art, if you’ve ever used creativity as a form of meditation or stress relief, I’d love to hear about it! Let’s share our creative energy and see where it takes us.

As parents, one of our greatest responsibilities is to guide our children with love, but one of our greatest lessons is learning to let go. This is especially true when it comes to faith and belief systems.

I grew up in a Catholic family, but my spiritual journey has taken a different path. I believe in God and the universe, in divine wisdom that speaks through all things, and in the power of love and alignment. My spirituality is not tied to any one religion, but rather to a deep knowing that God is in all of us and everything around us.

My 8-year-old son, however, has chosen a different path. He has been writing Bible verses, listening to Sunday church services, and attending with his aunt’s family, who are Christians. His faith is growing in a way that is different from mine, and that is perfectly okay.

Faith as a Personal Journey

When I first became more spiritually aware, I realized that faith is deeply personal. It cannot be forced, nor should it be. Parenting, for me, is not about coercing my child into my way of thinking—it’s about giving him the space to explore, question, and connect with what resonates with his heart.

Children are not extensions of us; they are their own souls, with their own purpose, lessons, and paths to walk. As much as I believe in the universe’s alignment and divine wisdom, I also believe that my son must walk his journey in his own way.

Will his beliefs change as he grows? Maybe. Maybe not. But that is his path to take, not mine to dictate.

The Core of Any Faith: Love and Compassion

At the heart of every spiritual path, every religion, and every belief system is one universal truth: love. Whether one follows the teachings of Jesus, the wisdom of the universe, or any other form of divine connection, what matters most is the way we embody love, kindness, and compassion.

I do not measure my son’s growth by whether he follows my beliefs or someone else’s—I measure it by how kind he is, how he treats others, and whether he carries love in his heart. If his faith helps him become a compassionate, loving, and service-driven person, then that is all I could ever ask for as his mother.

Letting Go and Trusting the Process

It can be difficult as parents to watch our children make choices that differ from our own, but that is part of the journey. They are here to discover their own truths, not to live out ours. My role is to support, love, and encourage him—not to dictate his path.

So, I let him explore. I let him write his Bible verses. I let him listen to Sunday services. I let him grow in the way that feels right for him. And no matter what he chooses in the future, I know that as long as he walks with love and compassion, he will always be aligned with the divine.

In the end, faith is not about labels or structures—it is about connection. And if my son finds his connection to God in a different way than I do, then I trust that it is exactly as it is meant to be.

As parents, the greatest gift we can give our children is the freedom to be who they truly are, and to love them unconditionally as they find their way.

Intentional Living

Lately, I’ve been feeling a deep pull toward intentional living—a quieter, more mindful way of moving through life. Not just in the physical sense, but emotionally and spiritually, too.

I’ve come to realize that so much of what we hold onto—whether it’s clutter, old habits, or even digital noise—takes up space that could be filled with peace, joy, and purpose.

So, I started letting go.

I decluttered my closet, cleared out things I no longer use, and even did a digital cleanse—deleting old files, reorganizing my PC, and simplifying my online world. And wow, I didn’t realize how much weight all that extra *stuff* carried until it was gone. My space feels lighter, my mind clearer, and there’s this quiet sense of freedom that I hadn’t felt in a long time.

After clearing, I took a moment to cleanse the energy, too. I lit sage and palo santo, letting the smoke carry away any lingering heaviness, inviting in calm, renewal, and clarity. It felt like a reset—not just for my home, but for my spirit.

But this isn’t just about me. I’m also teaching my son about living with intention—about appreciating what we have, making mindful choices, and understanding that we don’t need *more* to be happy. Watching him start to grasp these little lessons has been beautiful, and it reminds me that intentional living isn’t just about decluttering; it’s about creating a life filled with meaning.

Clarity and Presence

I want to be fully *here*, not lost in distractions. More moments of stillness, more space for the things that truly matter.

A Lighter, Calmer Energy

My environment deeply affects my inner world. A clutter-free space means a more peaceful mind, and that’s exactly what I’m creating.

Mindful Abundance

Instead of chasing *more*, I want to appreciate what’s already here. Financial freedom, thoughtful spending, and a deeper connection to what truly adds value to my life.

A Sustainable, Conscious Life

Small shifts make a difference. Being mindful of waste, simplifying my lifestyle, and making choices that feel aligned with the Earth and my soul.

Sacred Spaces & Rituals

Beyond tidying up, I want to honor my space. Smudging with sage, setting intentions, and creating a home that *feels* safe, warm, and energetically aligned.

Joy, Contentment, and Freedom

The ultimate goal. To wake up feeling *light*, knowing I am living with purpose and not just going through the motions.

The Journey Continues...

I know this isn’t an overnight change—it’s a daily practice, a conscious shift in the way I move through life. Some days will feel easy, others will be messy, but I’m here for all of it.

If you’ve ever explored intentional living or simplifying your lifestyle, I’d love to hear about your experience. What have you let go of? What has this journey brought into your life? Let’s learn from each other and grow together.

The Journey

For the past eight years, I’ve done it all—every expense, every responsibility, every tough decision. Being a single mom hasn’t just been about raising a child; it’s been about proving myself in a world that often misunderstands women like me. The weight of finances, judgment, and exhaustion was heavy, but somehow, I kept going.

The Fight to Survive

I worked from home for a while, juggling parenting and making ends meet. Later, I took my son to work with me every day. I tried freelancing, hoping for more freedom, but when times got tough, I went back to teaching for stability—all while homeschooling my son. It was a constant hustle, a cycle of survival.

The Realization

But through all the struggle, something deeper was happening. The hardships became my teachers. They showed me my strength, but also the burdens I was carrying—resentment, hurt, disappointment. I realized I couldn’t stay trapped in the past. My son didn’t deserve a mother still weighed down by old wounds. He deserved a mother who was free.

Trusting the Process

So, I let go. I forgave. Not because it was easy, but because I needed peace. And in that surrender, everything changed. I found joy in teaching again. I found clarity in my path. And most unexpectedly, I found love—a partner who cares for me and my son, allowing me to finally embrace my feminine energy and just be.

If you’re still in the storm, know this: the moment you choose to release the pain, life makes space for something greater. Keep going. Trust the journey. The peace you seek is already within you.

Writing Again

It's been a long time since I last wrote on my blog—five years, to be exact. Now, I'm in the process of updating this space, which once focused on single motherhood and whatever else was on my mind. Moving forward, I'll be writing about spirituality, awakening, divine wisdom, and alignment.

Every now and then, I'll still share whatever tickles my fancy, but my focus may shift toward a more spiritual path, including perspectives on motherhood from this new lens.

Shifting Focus

Life has a way of guiding us toward what we need most, even if we don’t see it clearly at first. For me, the journey into spirituality, awakening, and alignment began as a way to find clarity and peace amidst the challenges of single motherhood. It became a lifeline—helping me focus on what I truly want my life to be and how I wish to guide my child.

Motherhood has always been a profound and transformative experience, but it also comes with its share of chaos and uncertainty. I realized that if I wanted to show my child the beauty of the world, I first needed to find it within myself. Spirituality became my compass, offering clarity in moments of doubt and grounding me when life felt overwhelming.

I will still be writing about many other things, but I may be pursuing a more spiritual path and take even on motherhood.

Clarity, Kindness, and Finding My Path

As I deepened my connection with the universe, I began to see life differently. I started to understand the power of kindness and compassion—not just as values to teach my child, but as ways of being that ripple outward. I want to show my child the importance of being true to oneself, of embracing calm even in a world that often tests and pushes us to our limits.

Of course, it’s not always easy. There are days when staying true and kind feels like an uphill battle. But I’ve learned that those are the moments when grace is most needed. Slowly, I’m working on it—finding beauty not just in the big milestones, but in the everyday: the smile of a stranger, the stillness of a sunrise, the laughter of my child.

This journey has taught me to see the universe as a teacher, constantly offering lessons in patience, resilience, and love. It’s this perspective that I want to share with others—because even when life feels chaotic, there’s so much grace to be found in the people, places, and moments around us.

Staying Inspired and Inspiring Others

As I transition this blog to focus on spirituality, awakening, and alignment, my hope is to inspire others to explore their own journeys. Whether you’re a parent seeking clarity, a soul searching for peace, or simply someone curious about the beauty of the universe, I invite you to join me. Together, we can navigate this path, learning to embrace kindness, authenticity, and the profound wisdom that life has to offer.

Much love,
Chelle
