Celebrating Women Through Art: A Creative Tribute for International Women’s Month

March is International Women's Month, a time to celebrate the strength, creativity, and resilience of women everywhere. One of the most meaningful ways to honor this occasion is by supporting women artists who are using their talents to bring healing, inspiration, and beauty into the world.

A dear friend of mine, Donna Donor, is one such artist. She’s a mom, blogger, teacher, and creative soul who designed an adult coloring book with women especially in mind. Coloring a page from her book was more than just a fun activity—it became a form of art therapy, a moment of mindfulness and self-expression.

For this piece, I experimented with pens, crayons, colored pencils, and marker pens, layering different textures to bring depth and vibrancy to the design. I also added my own touch by incorporating zentangle patterns and doodles, turning the process into a meditative experience.

Art therapy, especially for women, offers a powerful way to unwind, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves. Through creativity, we can release stress, embrace self-care, and find healing in the simple act of making art.

This Women’s Month, let’s uplift and support the women artists in our lives. Their art is a gift to the world, and by celebrating them, we celebrate the power of creativity itself.
